Liam Lawson is having the most consistent season of his Formula 1 career. After Singapore he had 75 points, ninth in the drivers' standings, and Racing Bulls was fifth in the constructors' table with 100, according to Crash.

It is only his second full season in F1, and his first with one team from start to finish. Red Bull moved him back to Racing Bulls after two rounds in 2025. By the end of June 2026, Formula1.com noted, he had matched his career-best result with sixth in Monaco, finished seventh in both the sprint and the Grand Prix in China and seventh in Canada, and put together four straight top-ten finishes.

There were difficult days as well. A collision with Pierre Gasly ended his race in Miami, a hydraulic issue hit him in Canada, and in Austria smoke in the cockpit left him struggling to breathe for several laps. After Monaco he summed it up: "just surviving is giving us points."

In Austin this weekend he was tenth in FP1 and sixth in FP2. Lawson and rookie team-mate Arvid Lindblad race at Yas Marina for the finale on Sunday 6 December.
