Nass at NYU Abu Dhabi: Fouad Boussouf's dance tribute to Nass El Ghiwane on 30 October
Seven male dancers link 1970s Moroccan music to hip-hop in a single performance at The Arts Center's Red Theater.
Nass, a dance piece by choreographer Fouad Boussouf, comes to The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi on Friday 30 October 2026. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 7.30pm in The Red Theater on Saadiyat Island, according to Platinumlist.
The work is performed by seven male dancers and draws on the rhythms of 1970s Moroccan music, in particular the band Nass El Ghiwane, and its connection with hip-hop's search for identity and roots. Each dancer keeps his own style while the group builds a rhythmic, ritual-like performance.
The National's autumn events guide describes it as a work that links hip-hop to North African music rituals. It is one of the season's few dance programmes in Abu Dhabi with a clear Arab music thread.
Tickets start from 52.50 dirhams on the Platinumlist page. Later in the season, The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi hosts the free Tamaas Festival on 29 January 2027.
