Three dates for Arab and North African music fans on Saadiyat Island, from a free festival in January to Faraj Suleiman in March.
The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi has three early-2027 dates that will interest fans of Arab and North African music, all listed in The National's autumn events guide published on 19 October.
First is the Tamaas Festival on 29 January 2027, with Sami Galbi, Bombino and Ibibio Sound Machine playing blends of traditional and club-oriented music. It starts at 7pm and is free with registration.
On 17 February, Ramadaniyat: The Handover brings a trio that fuses Egyptian folk music with free improvisation and electronic textures, starting at 9.30pm. Then on 26 March, pianist Faraj Suleiman presents a tribute to Lebanese composer Ziad Rahbani, re-orchestrating his music through piano, jazz and Arabic composition, starting at 7.30pm.
All three take place at the Arts Center on Saadiyat Island. Before then, the venue hosts Fouad Boussouf's dance piece Nass on 30 October.
