The Phantom of the Opera comes to Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi in March 2027
Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical makes its Abu Dhabi debut with 13 performances from 10 to 28 March 2027.

The Phantom of the Opera is coming to Abu Dhabi for the first time. Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical will play Etihad Arena on Yas Island for a three-week run from 10 to 28 March 2027, with 13 performances, The National and Gulf News reported.
Etihad Arena teased the news with a video on social media before the official announcement on 9 October, the musical's 40th anniversary. The show opened at Her Majesty's Theatre in London's West End on 9 October 1986 and is still running there.
The Abu Dhabi run includes afternoon and evening performances on Saturdays and Sundays, according to The National. Tbreak reports that Platinumlist is the ticketing partner. Casting has not been announced yet.
The musical is based on Gaston Leroux's 1910 novel, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Charles Hart and Richard Stilgoe, and was first directed by Harold Prince. Its Broadway production opened in 1988 and became the longest-running show in Broadway history, with almost 14,000 performances before it closed in April 2023, The National noted.
More than 160 million people have seen the show worldwide, according to The National. The Abu Dhabi dates add to a busy first quarter of 2027 at Etihad Arena, which also hosts the IIFA Awards in January and the Harry Potter film concerts in February.
