Tamer Hosny in the UAE: from Global Village and Burj Park to Etihad Arena
Before his Abu Dhabi double bill with Tamer Ashour, a look back at Hosny's Dubai concerts and his Dubai film premiere.
Tamer Hosny's show at Etihad Arena on Saturday 17 October, shared with Tamer Ashour, is the latest chapter in a long run of UAE appearances. Over the past decade he has played Global Village twice, sung on the opening night of the Dubai Shopping Festival and premiered a film in Dubai.
In November 2017, Egypt Today reported, Hosny posted on Instagram inviting his Emirati fans to a concert in the Egyptian pavilion at Global Village. He was riding the success of his film Tesbah Ala Kheir, released around Eid al-Fitr that year.
In December 2020 he shared a sold-out double bill with Hussain Al Jassmi on the opening night of the Dubai Shopping Festival, at Market Outside the Box in Burj Park, Downtown Dubai. Gulf News reported that TV presenter Lojain Omran hosted, the night came with fireworks and a special illumination of Burj Khalifa, and MBC 1 broadcast the show live.
Global Village then chose him to open its concert programme for Season 29. He played the Main Stage on Sunday 10 November 2024, in a show produced by Rotana, and entry was included in a standard park ticket, the park announced at the time.
Hosny also brings his films to Dubai. In May 2025 he walked the red carpet at Vox Cinemas, Mall of the Emirates, for the premiere of his comedy Restart, in which he plays Mohamed, a phone technician who chases internet fame with his fiancée Afaf, Gulf News reported.
This time he moves to an arena in the capital. Misr Connect says the Etihad Arena set will mix his best known songs with tracks from Mesh Hatkarar, his 14-song album released in July 2026.
