Seventeen Abu Dhabi Grands Prix have been held at Yas Marina. The winners, according to RacingNews365: Sebastian Vettel in 2009, 2010 and 2013, Lewis Hamilton in 2011, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2019, Kimi Räikkönen in 2012, Nico Rosberg in 2015, Valtteri Bottas in 2017, Max Verstappen in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2025, and Lando Norris in 2024.
That makes Hamilton and Verstappen the joint record holders with five wins each, ahead of Vettel on three. Red Bull are the most successful team with eight wins, followed by Mercedes with six, McLaren with two and Lotus with one. Mercedes won every race from 2014 to 2019.
Starting at the front matters at this track. Lights Out's statistics, which cover the 16 races up to 2024, show the pole-sitter won 11 of them. Räikkönen's 2012 win from fourth on the grid is the only one not taken from the front row.
Some big teams have never won here. Ferrari have 12 podiums at Yas Marina through 2024 but no wins, and Lights Out notes their 2024 result was the first time both Ferraris finished on the podium at the track. Hamilton also holds the records for poles, podiums and laps led.
The 18th edition takes place from 4 to 6 December 2026, again as the season finale. Kimi Antonelli, George Russell and Charles Leclerc are among the drivers still chasing a first Abu Dhabi win.
