Movsar Evloev: no one has put Volkanovski under the pressure I will at UFC 333
The 20-0 challenger says he has won the fight "1,000 times" in his head after seven years of waiting.
Movsar Evloev says Alexander Volkanovski has never faced pressure like the kind he will bring to Etihad Arena on Saturday. Speaking to the Associated Press before UFC 333, as quoted by Sport-Express, the unbeaten challenger said he truly believes none of Volkanovski's previous opponents pressured him the way he will.
Evloev has been patient for this moment. "I have been waiting seven years since I signed with the UFC," he told The National, adding: "In my mind, I won this fight 1,000 times." At the press conference he said: "I can solve everything."
He also told Khaleej Times at the open workout at Yas Mall: "It's good to be undefeated, but it's better to take the belt." Evloev is 20-0, with 13 of those wins on the scorecards, and earned the title shot by beating Lerone Murphy in March.
Volkanovski, 38, sees it differently. He told The National he has a striking advantage while Evloev has the edge in wrestling, and that he is "prepared for an absolute war". Evloev weighed 145 lb on Friday, half a pound more than the champion.
