How to get from Dubai to Yas Island for a show: car, bus and taxi

Yas Island is home to Etihad Arena, Etihad Live and Yas Marina Circuit, so most big Abu Dhabi shows mean a trip there from Dubai. By car, Bayut puts the drive at about 1 hour 15 minutes from Dubai International Airport, while Property Finder gives 1.5 to 2 hours depending on where you start and on traffic.

The usual driving route is Sheikh Zayed Road (E11) toward Abu Dhabi. Bayut's guide suggests continuing onto Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Highway (E12) to reach the island. Etihad says Etihad Arena has covered and open parking on site, with extra parking nearby for sold-out shows.

Dubai's intercity buses run to Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station. The E101 leaves Ibn Battuta Bus Station, next to Ibn Battuta Metro on the Red Line, and takes about 1.5 hours, while the E100 runs from Al Ghubaiba in about two hours. Both take Nol cards. Property Finder also recommends the E102 from Ibn Battuta, which it says passes near Yas Island and Yas Mall.

From Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station, route 190 runs to Yas Island in about 40 minutes, according to Etihad. Abu Dhabi's local buses use the Hafilat card, not Nol. With the change, Property Finder estimates two to three hours door to door by public transport.

For an evening show, the trip home needs the most planning. Bus timetables can change, so check the last service with the RTA before you leave, or budget for a taxi or ride-hailing car. Property Finder estimates a one-way taxi between Dubai and Yas Island at roughly AED 190 to 350, depending on pickup point, traffic and tolls.
