Lewis Hamilton's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix record: five wins, ten podiums and a Ferrari return
The joint most successful driver at Yas Marina arrives third in the 2026 standings after his first Ferrari win.

Lewis Hamilton has won the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix five times: in 2011 for McLaren and in 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2019 for Mercedes. That shares the record for most wins at Yas Marina with Max Verstappen, according to RacingNews365's list of winners.
Lights Out's track statistics, which run to 2024, show how strong his record is. He has 10 podiums and five poles at the circuit, has led 319 laps, almost double any other driver, and is the only driver to score a Grand Slam there, in 2019: pole, win, fastest lap and every lap led.
His most recent visit was harder: in 2025, his first season with Ferrari, he finished eighth. Ferrari have never won the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, although Lights Out counts 12 podiums for the team through 2024.
This season has gone better. Hamilton won the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix on 14 June from second on the grid, 19.561 seconds clear of George Russell. The FIA noted it was his first win for Ferrari, his 106th career win and his first since the 2024 Belgian Grand Prix. He was also third at Silverstone and fourth at Zandvoort.
After Singapore he is third in the championship on 229 points, 9 behind Russell and 8 ahead of Verstappen. He trails leader Kimi Antonelli by 111 points, so the title is a long shot, but second place in the standings is very much open going into the finale on 4 to 6 December.
