Oliver Bearman started his second full Formula 1 season in style. The 20-year-old British driver, on loan to Haas from Ferrari, finished seventh in Australia and fifth in China, his best result of the year so far, and scored 17 of the team's first 18 points, Motorsport.com reported in the spring.

Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu called the start "extremely impressive" and said he does not yet see a ceiling for Bearman, praising how quickly he learns and how he works with his engineers. Bearman also led team-mate Esteban Ocon 3-1 in qualifying after three rounds. His season has had setbacks too, including a crash in Japan after he was caught out by the closing speed on Franco Colapinto's Alpine.

After Singapore, Bearman had 23 points and was 13th in the drivers' championship, with Ocon on 7, according to Crash. Haas is seventh in the constructors' standings with 30 points. His best result before 2026 was fourth in Mexico City in 2025.

In Austin he was tenth fastest in second practice on Friday. Bearman will race at Yas Marina for the finale on Sunday 6 December.
