Russell Peters in the UAE: from Dubai World Trade Centre to Etihad Arena
The Canadian comic has sold out Dubai halls and opened Coca-Cola Arena; on 25 October he plays Abu Dhabi.

Russell Peters plays Etihad Arena on Sunday 25 October, the night after UFC 333, as part of Abu Dhabi Showdown Week. Few international comedians have as long a record in the UAE, and his past visits have filled some of the country's largest rooms.
In 2018 he played two nights at Dubai World Trade Centre for Live Nation, and Gulf News reported that the first show sold more than 6,000 tickets in 40 minutes. On the same trip he did two shows in Abu Dhabi, organised by Flash Entertainment.
When Coca-Cola Arena opened in Dubai, Peters was the first performer to headline its grand opening, FACT Magazine noted. He returned to that arena on 25 October 2025 with his Relax World Tour, a show that has played more than 100 cities across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
Peters was born in Canada in 1970 to Indian parents and began doing stand-up in Toronto in his late teens, starting at the Yuk Yuk's club. "I bombed on my first night," he said in a quote carried by Gulf News, adding that he was hooked all the same.
His profile rose around 2004 with the TV series Comedy Now and early online clips. He became the first comedian to sell out Toronto's Air Canada Centre, sold more than 16,000 tickets at London's O2 Arena in 2009, and Rolling Stone later named him one of the 50 best comics of all time. His specials include Outsourced, Red, White and Brown, Almost Famous and Deported.
