Shaan plays Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on Sunday 25 October with his All of Me tour. Ahead of the night, here is a look at the catalogue that made him one of Hindi cinema's most familiar playback voices.

Music runs in the family. He was born in 1972 into a Bengali family; his father was the music director Manas Mukherjee, his grandfather the lyricist Jahar Mukherjee, and his sister Sagarika is also a singer. He started out as a child singing advertising jingles, and in 1989 sang a single line in Kitni Hai Pyari Pyari Dosti Hamari for the film Parinda.

His pop career took off with albums recorded with his sister, such as Naujawan and Q-Funk. His second solo album, Tanha Dil, won Best Solo Album at the 2000 MTV Asia Music Awards, and his later album Aksar featured international names including Blue and Mel C.

In films, his hits include Kuch Toh Hua Hai from Kal Ho Na Ho, Ladki Kyun from Hum Tum, My Dil Goes from Salaam Namaste and Chand Sifarish from Fanaa. Add Jab Se Tere Naina from Saawariya, the title song of Om Shanti Om, Bum Bum Bole from Taare Zameen Par and Behti Hawa Sa Tha Woh from 3 Idiots.

That run earned him five Filmfare awards for best male playback singer, three IIFA awards and three Zee Cine awards. He sings in Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Telugu and Tamil, and he also voiced the Hindi version of the animated film Rio.
