Tamer Hosny's albums and films: a quick guide before his Abu Dhabi show
Seventeen albums, the Omar & Salma films and a Hollywood handprint: the career behind the Etihad Arena headliner on 17 October.

Tamer Hosny headlines Etihad Arena with Tamer Ashour on Saturday 17 October. If you only know a few of his songs, here is the bigger picture of a career that runs across music and cinema.
Born in Cairo in 1977, Hosny first got noticed on the Free Mix compilations with other Egyptian artists in the early 2000s. His solo career began with the album Hob in 2004, and he has released an album almost every year or two since, from Ikhtart Sah (2010) and 180° (2014) to Hormone Al Saada (2024) and Lena Moad (2025).
His newest album, Mesh Hatkarar, came out in July 2026, first on Anghami. Misr Connect reported that its 14 tracks topped Anghami's Middle East charts and reached nearly 5 million streams in under 48 hours.
On screen, he is best known for the Omar & Salma films (2007, 2009 and 2012). Later hits include El Feloos (2019), which took more than 46 million Egyptian pounds at the local box office in just over a month, and Mesh Ana (2021). His most recent film listed on Wikipedia is Restart (2025).
He has also worked well beyond the Arab world: a duet called Smile with Shaggy in 2012, Si Al Sayed with Snoop Dogg in 2013, and the official song of the 2019 Special Olympics World Games. In 2017 he became the first Arab artist to leave his hand and foot prints at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Misr Connect says the Abu Dhabi set will mix his best known songs with tracks from Mesh Hatkarar.
