Who can still win the 2026 F1 title? Drivers' standings after Singapore explained
Six drivers are still mathematically in the fight with 150 points left, but Kimi Antonelli holds a 102-point lead.

Kimi Antonelli leads the 2026 Formula 1 drivers' championship on 340 points after the Singapore Grand Prix. His Mercedes team-mate George Russell is second on 238, Lewis Hamilton third on 229, Max Verstappen fourth on 221, Charles Leclerc fifth on 215 and Lando Norris sixth on 201, according to the standings published by Crash and RacingNews365.
Six Grands Prix remain: Austin, Mexico City, São Paulo, Las Vegas, Qatar and the Abu Dhabi finale at Yas Marina. GPblog noted that the Singapore sprint was the last sprint of the season, so each of the six races is worth a maximum of 25 points, or 150 points in total.
On those numbers, five drivers can still catch Antonelli on paper. Russell could reach 388 points, Hamilton 379, Verstappen 371, Leclerc 365 and Norris 351. Oscar Piastri, seventh on 138, is out of contention because his maximum of 288 is below Antonelli's current total.
The behind-the-leader fight is tight in its own right. RacingNews365 points out that Russell is 9 points clear of Hamilton, who is 8 ahead of Verstappen, with Leclerc 6 points further back. If drivers finish level on points, the first tie-breaker is the number of wins, GPblog notes.
Antonelli's first chance to seal the title is the United States Grand Prix in Austin on 25 October, where he needs to leave with a lead of at least 126 points. If he does not, the fight moves on, and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Sunday 6 December is the last possible decider. Last year he finished 15th at Yas Marina in his rookie season.
