2017 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix recap: Bottas wins and Massa says goodbye
Valtteri Bottas led a Mercedes one-two from pole while Felipe Massa scored in his last Grand Prix.

Valtteri Bottas controlled the 2017 season finale at Yas Marina on 26 November. He took pole with 1:36.231, led from the start and won by 3.899 seconds from Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton, with Sebastian Vettel third for Ferrari, 19.330 seconds back.
Bottas also set the fastest lap, 1:40.650, late in the race. It was his only win of the 2017 season after Hamilton had already clinched the title, and he would not win again until the 2019 Australian Grand Prix.
Further back, Daniel Ricciardo retired with a hydraulic failure, which handed fourth in the drivers' standings to Kimi Raikkonen, fourth in the race. Nico Hulkenberg's recovery to sixth secured sixth place in the constructors' championship for Renault.
The race was also Felipe Massa's last Formula 1 Grand Prix before his move to Formula E, and he signed off with the final point in tenth. Mercedes finished the year on 668 points, ahead of Ferrari on 522 and Red Bull on 368. The 2026 finale at Yas Marina is on Sunday 6 December.
