Denis Matsuev at Dubai Opera on 16 December: a Classics and Jazz night
The Russian pianist brings double bass, cello, domra, drums and sax for an evening that crosses from symphonic works to jazz.
Russian pianist Denis Matsuev plays Dubai Opera's Main Auditorium on Wednesday 16 December 2026 at 8pm. The venue describes him as one of the most distinguished pianists of our time, known for a powerful sound and virtuosic playing.
The programme is billed as Classics and Jazz, mixing symphonic works, jazz-inspired pieces and classical masterpieces. Matsuev is joined by Andrey Ivanov on double bass, Borislav Strulev on cello, Ekaterina Mochalova on domra, David Tkebuchava on drums and Sofia Turina on saxophone, according to Dubai Opera.
The concert is a venue hire presented by M Premiere and MN Live rather than a Dubai Opera production. Khaleej Times lists it as part of the house's tenth anniversary season.
It caps a strong December for Russian culture at Dubai Opera, coming ten days after the Bolshoi Theatre's first official UAE tour, which runs from 2 to 6 December with The Tsar's Bride, an orchestral concert and The Nutcracker.
