Las Vegas GP: how McLaren's 2025 disqualification shaped the title, and 2026 UAE time
Verstappen won on the Strip last year as both McLarens were thrown out; this year's race is Sunday morning in the UAE.

The Las Vegas Grand Prix produced one of the twists of the 2025 title race. Max Verstappen took the lead at the first corner when pole-sitter Lando Norris ran wide and won by more than 20 seconds, his 69th Grand Prix win, Khaleej Times reported.
After the race, Norris, who finished second, and Oscar Piastri, fourth, were both disqualified because their skid blocks were worn below the minimum depth. That promoted George Russell to second and Kimi Antonelli, fifth on the road, to third.
The result left Verstappen level on points with Piastri and 24 behind Norris with two races to go, which helped set up the three-way decider in Abu Dhabi. Norris went on to win the title at Yas Marina.
In 2026 the race is again a Saturday night event locally, with no sprint. Oversteer48 lists the 50-lap race at 8pm on Saturday 21 November in Las Vegas, which is 8am on Sunday 22 November in the UAE.
Las Vegas is the fourth of the six remaining rounds, followed by Qatar and the finale at Yas Marina Circuit on Sunday 6 December.
